Linen, precious as the future
January 14, 1873 is the day it all began. It was the day the gears of the spinning machines of Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale began to turn, unaware that they would continue to do so for a very long time.It was the dawn of a new industrial era: the telephone was in its experimental phase, the cinematograph the dream of a handful of visionaries, and in the industries of the Kingdom of Italy we were beginning to see the first shoots of success from the seeds that had been planted during the second industrial revolution. This is the context in which the world became aware of our first yarns, spun on industrial machines that were already innovative for the time. A distant age recounted in history books, but whose legacy is intricately woven into our products.
Tradition and innovation are thus woven into our linen, to give birth to solutions that aspire to revolutionize a craft and transform an industrial sector. Today we celebrate the history of a product with remarkable and numerous qualities, within a value chain that embraces not only industry but also broader concepts such as sustainability, art, culture and community.
This year we honor Italian ingenuity: a celebration of challenge and success, but also of demanding complexity and problem-solving that has strengthened our identity.
Our first 150 years are the result of a long and intensive journey that binds us inextricably to the territory, the engine of our work. A unique achievement that we dedicate to our land, its community and all those individuals who over the years have contributed to writing the pages of our history.
Our first 150 years are the result of a journey undertaken with industrial and non-industrial partners, who every day honor our work with the trust they place in us and with whom we continue to write the memorable pages of our history.
