While linen has always been recognised for its natural properties, its eco-friendly qualities have today been confirmed by the results of a first ever Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), involving all phases from the growing of flax to the using of linen garments, including the spinning, weaving, finishing and garment manufacturing. The indicators relating to water consumption, ecotoxicity, global warming (greenhouse gas emissions), energy consumption point out the linen as the textile fibre at less environmental impact.
